The Adelaide University Cricket Club has won Cricket Australia’s Premier Cricket Club of the Year Award at the “Sport for All Community Cricket Awards” held in Melbourne.
“AUCC is committed to establishing a strong women’s program focussed on learning, improving and retention. The club has a firm focus on inclusion demonstrated by their commitment to introducing international students from non-traditional cricket countries to the game,” Cricket Australia stated.
Formed in 1907, the Adelaide University Cricket Club has a proud history as one of the longest established clubs of the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA), the highest level of cricket in SA. With a focus on development and inclusion of players from all abilities, AUCC fields 10 teams on a weekly basis in SACA Premier and ATCA competitions and is also committed to introducing new formats to cater for all cricket enthusiasts.
"This is an award for the whole club to celebrate. We thank all our players, coaches, volunteers, parents and sponsors who make our club a champion club on and off the field," said Stephen Dickinson, Chairperson of the club.
