Once again, AU Sport and the University of Adelaide will be partnering with Westpac to offer the University community the opportunity to run, walk or roll in the 2018 City Bay. Besides the 12km, 6km and 3km distances, this year City-Bay has added a half marathon and a 3km puppy walk so your four-legged best friends can be involved as well.
Over the last three years, the University had over 350 students, staff, club members, family and friends come together as one giant team as part of this great community fun run. Those involved will benefit from the fantastic team spirit that develops amongst our team plus they also receive half-price race entry fee, a new look team top and will have access to some great offers from the Fitness Hub, the Running Company, Grass Roots and many more. Like previous years, you will need to purchase the team package, which will only cost $20 before registering on the City-Bay event site. This year's team will receive the following benefits:
Thanks to Westpac, those who join the University City-Bay team receive a discount code which allows you to register for the event at HALF the normal price no matter what distance you are doing. So by joining the University team for just $20 (plus half the registration fee), you get to register for your distance at half the normal registration price, get access to all the team benefits, get to be a part of a team of over 350 fellow University supporters and it is still cheaper than just registering for the event.
Thanks to Nelson Team Wear we have a brand new look and all team members will receive a University of Adelaide City-Bay team top. Be quick as there are limited sizes available. We are expecting delivery at the end of July.
Offer 1: Hit the pavement with the Fitness Hub
Our training partner, The Fitness Hub, is here to help you get motivated and smash your PB no matter if you are trying to walk 3km for the first time, smash your 12km Pb or try and complete the half marathon. Not only can you access their brand new treadmills on those cold and rainy days but the Fitness Hub's qualified staff will be providing a 10 week running and functional fitness program. Those who were involved last year found it very beneficial and also made a number of new friends.

UofA City-Bay team members can purchase a 12 week All Access Gym Membership for just $50 (normally valued at $170). This membership includes access to all equipment, group fitness classes, showers and changing facilities. This offer must be activated prior to 1 August 2018.

Offer 2: Best foot forward with The Running Company
The experts at the Running Company is not just a shoe shop. They pride themselves on offering the latest running advice to all their customers...and University of Adelaide City-Bay team members. Whether you are new to running or a pro, their trained staff understand your needs and offer personalised, independent advice on training plans, nutrition, gait analysis and much more.
This year, we will be sharing their knowledge with team members and will even organise a fun interactive workshop to help you with your training and preparation for the event. If you can't make the Fitness Hub training sessions, members are welcome to join their free running sessions from their Adelaide and Christies Beach stores. They have also offered all team members a free pair of socks with each purchased footwear until the end of September.
Offer 3: Smooth up thanks to GrassRoots
Hydration after training is important and the team at GrassRoots (University of Adelaide Hub store only) will help you do this by offering one 1/2 price smoothie on Fridays between 6 July and 14 September.
There will be lots of competitions, prizes and giveaways leading to the big day so get involved.

Once again, there will be a Uni Hub Recovery station post-race where you can fuel up with a BBQ breakfast while you wait for your friends. More details about this space will be released closer to race day.
